Wise: To blame?
The F.A.'s Disciplinary Commission has today fined Millwall Football club £10,000 as punishment for the number of red and yellow cards picked up by the club last season.

Millwall were already under threat from a suspended £30,000 fine that was imposed the previous year and a third of that figure has now been invoked by the F.A. with the remainder still suspended.

A further review of The Lions' record is expected early next year.

"Clearly there have been a number of personnel changes at the club since the end of last season," reflected Chief Executive Ken Brown.

"Several players who accounted for a substantial proportion of the disciplinary points have left us.

"We also now have a new manager in post and hopefully we will see an improvement in our discipline on the field."
