Ardley finds a few positives

Lions midfielder Neal Ardley believes that manager Nigel Spackman can draw some positives from Millwall's bore-draw against Blackpool at the weekend and use them to improve the team ahead of this weekend's clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

"Blackpool, for me, came for the point and they got it," the 31-year-old told the club's official site. "I thought that for 65-70 minutes we played well and were by far the better tream.

"But when we got to the final third we were lacking in confidence a bit; we snapped at a few chances and we never stuck away any half-chances that came our way.

"In situations like that as the game progresses you start to feel the pressure a bit, and we looked a bit shoddy as it wore on."

Ardley also feels that The Lions were missing key players who could've opened up the visitors' defences.

"It didn't help that we had 10 players missing," he continued. "But no one would want to use that as an excuse because we still had good players out there.

"We worked our socks off but our quality in the final third not good enough and that's something we'll have to address. We defended well but lacked that little spark.

"We need to show a bit more guile and hopefully have that slice of luck that we have been missing. If we can get one or two wins on the trot that will give us all a boost, starting against Brighton this Saturday."
