The 23-year-old striker has spent the past month with The Irons, failing to find the net in his five appearances, but with The Lions squad already depleted by injury, the clud decided to enforce the recall clause in his contract that came into effect earlier this week.
May had been scheduled to spend three months at Glanford Park after asking former manager Willie Donachie for move away from the club following abuse he received from fans.
