Berylson keen to keep Jackett

Millwall Chairman John Berylson has come out fighting over rumours that Lions boss Kenny Jackett is a target for both Watford and QPR.

The two managerless Championship clubs have been linked with Jackett over the past week following the sackings of Ian Dowie and Aidy Boothroyd and the Millwall manager has connections with both clubs, fuelling the rumours further, but the club's chairman has insisted that he wants to retain Jackett's services and is not interested in a compensation deal.

"I would rather not have any approach from Watford," he told the Daily Mail. "Unlike Portsmouth and Harry Redknapp I'm not interested in compensation.

"There is no price that would be enough. Even offering £10million is meaningless because money is nothing to me. Making Millwall a success is and I hope it is Kenny who achieves this. I want Kenny to stay for years to come but he has to want to stay. Millwall aren't a jail but my job is to defend the club."
