Harris: Coming home?
After weeks of speculation, Millwall Football Club this evening confirmed that negotiations are underway to bring Neil Harris back to The Den. And if all goes to plan, the popular striker will rejoin The Lions next week.

"Negotiations have been taking place recently, and we are very hopeful that Neil will have a medical and sign on Monday" admitted chairman Stewart Till

"We are not the only club in the race to sign Neil which is why we don't want to say too much at this stage, but it would be fair to say that we would be delighted to see him back."

Harris enjoyed a successful spell at The Den under former managers Keith Stevens and Mark McGhee before cancer seemingly brought his career to an end. But after undergoing successful treatment, he made a return to the first team and played in the 2004 FA Cup Final before equalling Teddy Sheringham's league goalscoring record.

He left shortly afterwards, initially on loan to Cardiff City before sealing a move to Nottingham Forest.

"Neil Harris is just the sort of committed, passionate, experienced player we need at the moment," remarked manager Willie Donachie. "There was a marked lack of those qualities in the team at Stoke so I am very hopeful that Neil will be a tremendous acquisition."
