Bully Off

Millwall full back Ronnie Bull has joined Second Division Brentford on a short-term trial with a view to earning a permanent move to Griffin Park.

The former Young Player of the Year has found it hard to break into the first team this season and has only managed one start in the past two campaigns. He recently enjoyed a loan spell with Yeovil Town in an effort to get some first team games under his belt but returned to The Den early after picking up an injury

Speaking to the Lions' official website, player-manager Dennis Wise clarified the situation further. "Ronnie came to us and asked what the situation was, and he hasn't been offered a new contract.

"We spoke to him and said that we can try and help, if there's anyone he would like us to talk to. Obviously Wally (Downes) is a friend of mine and he is interested in him. The club have been good enough to say if you would like to go there and give yourself the opportunity to try and get a contract at Brentford, then do that and go down.

"That's what Ronnie wanted to do. He's fine by it. He's pleased that he knows now what is happening with him. He felt that under the previous manager he didn't actually know the situation or what was going to happen and it's not a nice situation to be in. You'd rather know one way or the other what is going to happen."
