Carlisle clash in doubt

Millwall's League One game against Carlisle United could fall victim to the weather because ex-Lion Lenny Pidgeley and his new chums are worried that it could be a bit parky this Saturday.

The pitch at Brunton Park is already a bit frozen and the United players are scared that they could graze their knees, particularly veteran Graham Kavanagh whose plastic knees could freeze altogether if temperatures drop.

An insider at The Den has confirmed that their opponents have already sought permission for an early pitch inspection. "All our lads have requested short sleeves for the match," said our insider. "Even Lewis Grabban, who reckons it'll be a bit warm for gloves."

Tickets for the game have gone off sale already, with the match now pay at the door if it goes ahead.
