Preston midfielder Darren Carter is spending the week training with Millwall. The 26-year-old has been told he can leave Deepdale and Lions boss Kenny Jackett will run the rule over him at their training camp in Devon ahead of a proposed loan switch. Preston manager Darren Ferguson said: "He's spending the week with them and providing that goes well, the plan is to send him there for six months." Carter joined Preston for £750,000 from West Brom three years ago but was transfer listed by Ferguson in May.
