Davies returns to Saints

The 25-year-old striker scored three times for Millwall in a spell of nearly two months at the New Den but has returned to Southampton because the club could not guarantee him first-team football.

Lions boss Mark McGhee said: "Kevin was on the bench for the last few games.

"From his point of view he wants to be playing in the first team.

"From ours, financially we have to question whether we can justify keeping him here just to be a substitute.''
