Dichio: Preston bound
Daniele Dichio finally completed his move to Deepdale this afternoon in a deal worth £160,000.

The former QPR, Sampdoria and Sunderland striker has signed a two-year deal with Preston North End having passed a medical and agreed personal terms earlier this week.

The move had been in danger of collapsing following former Chairman Jeff Burnige's surprise resignation yesterday but was today the necessary paperwork was completed to push the move through.

Speaking to Preston's official website, Dichio said: "There was a couple of clubs interested but I wanted to make sure that my next move was to a club that is going places, one that is going for the play-offs and ambitiously aiming for the Premiership.

"I have been promoted twice with Sunderland and West Brom and I want to have that feeling again. I wouldn't have come miles up north if I didn't feel that I was joining a team that had the qualities to do that."

The former Millwall frontman scored 10 goals in 27 starts last season.
