Ebbsfleet reject Lions bid for striker

Ebbsfleet United have reportedly rejected a bid of £100,000 from Millwall for striker John Akinde.

The 19-year-old, who had a goal-bound effort cleared off the line when the two teams met in a pre-season friendly last week, has attracted interest from a number of League clubs after contributing to The Fleet's FA Trophy success last season, including Peterborough United, who are also interested in Leeds United's Trésor Kandol.

Should Jackett lose out on Kandol to The Posh the board may up their offer as the manager looks to re-enforce his front-line attack ahead of Saturday's opener against Oldham Athletic.
