Elliott: Happy to leave
Marvin Elliott seems intent on burning his bridges at Millwall.

Having sulked and kicked his heels around for much of last season, the former youth player finally got his wish this week and sealed a move away from The Den, but not to his intended destination.

The midfielder had his eye on a dream move to The Premiership or at the very least, The Championship, and had attracted a number of scouts last year. But in the end, the only club willing to take a chance on him were fellow League One contenders Bristol City.

Elliott, 22, finally completed his move to Ashton Gate earlier this week for an undisclosed fee but he couldn't resist having a pop at his former club, claiming that The Lions, for whom in played in an FA Cup Final and in the UEFA Cup, were somehow holding him back.

"I needed to get back into the Championship and this move gives me the opportunity to do that," he told City's website.

"I came down and met the manager on Friday, he's so enthusiastic and goes through everything so thoroughly. He's somebody I wanted to work for and I won't let him down.

"But it's a new challenge and one I'm really looking forward to."
