Former Millwall goalkeeper Tim Carter has been found dead.
His body was discovered in bushes in the Stretford area of Greater Manchester yesterday by a passer-by who called the emergency services but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
Carter enjoyed two spells with The Lions during the 1990s as number two to Kasey Keller before becoming the club's first choice following Keller's departure.
He made over 70 appearances for the club before joining Halifax Town in 1998.
A post mortem is expected to be carried out sometime next week.
