Lions manager Dennis Wise has hinted that he hopes to sign trialist Gareth Farrelly this week after the former Bolton and Bradford City player impressed on the club's pre-season tour of Canada.

Millwall played the last of their three games at the weekend with an entertaining 1-1 draw with SPL side Hearts. Once again Farrelly caught the eye of management team and Wise sees the free agent as a possible replacement for himself, as he tried to concentrate more on his role in the dugout.

In addition to Farrelly, Millwall are also said to be poised to make a £30, 000 bid for former striker Paul Shaw. Shaw, who was signed by Billy Bonds in 1997 left the club for Gillingham in 2000, missing out on The Lions' Division Two Championship success, and joined Sheffield United towards the end of last season.
