Financial results released

Millwall have announced the preliminary financial results for the year ending on 31 May 2004 to the London Stock Exchange this morning.

The announcement confirms that the club did not make a £4 million loss - as reported in Tuesday's South London Press.

The statement on the club's official website reported that turnover for the year increased to £10.2million (2003 - £6.5m), thanks largely to the club's run to the FA Cup Final and an increase in home League attendances, with The Lions averaging 10,400 (compared to 8,900 in 2003).

Overall, the club made a loss for the year of £100,000 - a far cry from the £4 million alleged by the SLP - and including monies received from the sale of Steven Reid and an insurance payout after Richard Sadlier's early retirement.

A full statement will appear on the club's website later today.
