Yesterday the South London Press hinted that The Lions had entered into a two-horse race for the player along with Peterborough United, stating that the club had already made an offer for Akinde, but today Daish hit out, claiming the story was nonsense.
"I don't know anything about this," Daish told Kent Online. "I just want John to concentrate on getting fit following a number of injury setbacks sustained in the summer."
