Flinders Keepers?

If Lenny Pidgeley felt left out last week he'll feel even more unwanted if the rumours surrounding Scott Flinders imminent arrival when the loan window re-opens tomorrow prove to be true.

The Crystal Palace goalkeeper is said to be joining The Lions on loan as manager Kenny Jackett looks to strengthen his side after last week's injury to Rhys Evans. But it could be a case of too many keepers spoiling the broth if the move goes through.

Jackett was forced to throw in youngster Preston Edwards at the weekend after Evans was forced to leave the field through injury but signing another keeper when he already has four on the books will raise a few eyebrows. Pidgeley may be going through a confident crisis but whether Flinders is a better option remains to be seen.

Furthermore, Palace are having goalkeeping problems of their own after contract negotiations between The Eagles and first choice keeper Julian Speroni broke down at the weekend due to the Argentine's excessive wage demands. It seems highly unlikely that even Neil Warnock would leave himself short in such a vital area of the field but stranger things have happened in football.

One thing's for sure, Jackett seems rather keen on signing Palace's entire reserve side so it should be interesting to see what develops over the next few days.
