Millwall boss Kenny Jackett today secured the services of Cardiff City goalkeeper David Forde, having seemingly poached the player from under the noses of Aberdeen.

The 28-year-old stopper had impressed The Lions manager during his loan spell with Bournemouth and Jackett wasted no time in moving for the player after releasing Rhys Evans at the end of last season.

"He did very well in his loan spells in League One last season," said Jackett. "And I believe he will prove an excellent acquisition for us.

"I've known about David for some time since he was playing up the road at Cardiff when I was manager of Swansea."

Forde added: "I'm delighted to be signing for Millwall who are an ambitious club with real potential to be playing at a higher level."

The player has signed a two-year deal and is expected to become the club's number one next season.
