Forde an injury doubt after Beckford elbow

David Forde could be ruled out of this weekend's game against Stockport County after being elbowed in the face by Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford during last night's 2-0 defeat at Elland Road.

The 65th-minute incident was caught on camera by Sky Sports and showed The Lions goalkeeper taking the full force of the Leeds' player's elbow in the face. However, referee Alan Wiley missed the full incident and merely booked Beckford instead of showing him a straight red card and the striker went on to settle the match with an injury time goal shortly after Millwall were denied a stonewall penalty at the other end.

Forde suffered severe bruising and cuts to the side of his face as a result of the incident and manager Kenny Jackett was far from happy after the game.

"Some big decisions didn't go our way," he said. "People will see these decisions.

"I have seen my goalkeeper's jaw and eye and they don't look good. He's got a fair bit of damage down the side of his face."

Remarkably, the FA have ruled that no further action can be taken against Beckford as the incident was dealt with by Wiley on the night, a decision that will further anger Jackett and those at Millwall.
