Fratton Park-bound

With the date of the fixture yet to be determined, it now looks like Millwall's First Round FA Cup against Havant and Waterlooville could be switched to Portsmouth Fratton Park ground.

The move comes after the Conference South side were told by police chiefs that the cost of staging the tie is likely to be higher than normal, purely because of The Lions' fearsome reputation. The Hawks are due to hold talks tonight with Hampshir Police in an effort to get the tie staged at their 5,000-capacity West Leigh Park ground.

The club were due to net around £40,000 for the game against Willie Donachie's men but have been told to expect a hike in policing costs.

"I do not want the game switched." said Havant manager Iain Baird. "Playing it away from West Leigh Park would remove some of the excitement from the tie."

Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie said: "Playing the game at Fratton Park is something we are happy to explore."
