Gaynor stands by for Ireland

Millwall's promising striker Ross Gaynor has today been put on standby by the Republic of Ireland Under-19s management in readiness for a forthcomgin European Championships qualifying tournament.

The competition is set to begin on Sunday, October 16th in Cork with the Republic due to face Italy, Northern Ireland and Moldova.

Gaynor, who has worked his way up through the youth ranks at The Den to the verge of the first team squad, has caught the eye of the Irish team with some impressive performances this season for The Lions' reserves.
