Harris sees the bigger picture

It may have been eight years since his last hattrick but Neil Harris was quick to point out that it was the effort of the team as a whole, rather than his exploits in front of goal, that secured the three points at Hartlepool United on Saturday.

"I was glad to get on and even more pleased to get a hat-trick," said Harris after the game. "The free-kick that started it gave us hope and we all responded when the chance came to fight back.

"But today's not just about Neil Harris scoring three goals. It's about the whole team - its about Forde saving a penalty to keep us in the game at the start, its about the boys at the back."

The 31-year-old, who is named in the League One Team of the Week, also touched on the team spirit at The Den at the moment.

"It's fantastic. Its a real joy to be playing at the moment and to be part of it."
