Hayles: Keen on Fowler
Millwall hitman Barry Hayles has welcomed the news that former England international Robbie Fowler could be on his way to The Lions.

Hayles, who is currently out through injury, believes Fowler could be just the man to save the club's season and steer the team away from the relegation zone.

"We need a couple of extra strikers on board," said Hayles. "I've heard that we're in the market for a couple of top class strikers, with Robbie Fowler's name being mentioned in particular.

"He is struggling to get a game up at Manchester City it may make sense for him to get away on loan, and we'd be more than happy to see him in a Millwall shirt.

"He's not had much luck with injuries in recent years but Fowler is still a quality finisher. "

Hayles is hopeful of a return to action next month after undergoing surgery last week and he was pleased that the operation went well.

"The surgeon was pleased to see that the damage inside my knee wasn't as bad as he first feared," he said speaking on his official website.

"I was warned that I could be out for the rest of the season, but thankfully that's not going to be the case now."
