Hutchison: Quitting The Den
Former Scotland international Don Hutchison has departed The Den after failing to secure a first team place.

Rumours about the players departure began to filter through onto the messageboards run by the fans after the midfielder expressed his displeasure at being selected for a reserve team fixture last week. Hutchison has now confirmed the news in a statement released on his official website, although he insists that the decision was mutual.

"I want to stress that the parting of the ways has been extremely amicable", revealed the former Liverpool, Everton and Sunderland player.

"The main reason why I've left the club is because of a lack of first-team football. At my age I need to be playing regularly. I still feel that I have a lot ot offer.

"The team has struggled to pick up as many points as they would have liked so far this season, but there is still time for them to turn it around and avoid relegation.

"It's a shame to leave Millwall, but it's for the best"

Hutchison made fourteen appearances for The Lions, scoring twice.
