Ifill's contract was due to expire at the end of the season but after an impressive pre-season campagin and a Man of the Match performance against Wigan, the club decided to act swiftly in order to retain his services.
The midfielder is still a doubt for Tuesday's game against stoke but it is hoped that the injury he picked up a fortnight ago will have cleared up by the time Crystal Palace visit on Saturday.
