Just when things couldn't get any worse, Paul Ifill has been ruled out for upto six weeks with a hernia problem that requires surgery.

The popular winger will undergo an operation to resolve a long-standing problem on Wednesday, leaving Dennis Wise desperately short of first team players.

Earlier today Robbie Ryan was ruled out with a groin strain while a question mark hangs over Tim Cahill who strained his back during Saturday's clash away to Bradford while Paul Robinson, Mark Phillips, Mark McCammon and Joe Dolan are all long term injuries. Add to the mix the missing forward trio of Bob Peeters, Neil Harris and Noel Whelan and Millwall's injury crisis looks like a bad joke that's been taken too far.

Club physio Gerry Docherty certainly had his work cut out over the past few weeks but has retained his sense of humour. Speaking to the Club's official site, he joked: "This is obviously another blow for the management just now but the treatment room at present looks like Piccadily Circus."
