Injury woe for Barron

Someone once said that there is no room for sentiment in a game of football and there must have been a few around The Den thought thought it was a bit harsh that defender Scott Barron failed to make the squad for the game against Tranmere Rovers.

The 23-year-old had enjoyed a short run in Kenny Jackett's Millwall side and even scored his first goal for the club - albeit fortuitously - in the FA Cup win over Crewe Alexandra in midweek but was missing from the line-up when the team was announced.

However, it turns out that the former Ipswich Town player sustained an ankle injury in training on Friday, ruling him out of the game on Saturday. The club expect him to be fit again for next week's FA Cup game against Hull City.
