Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has moved swiftly to bring in cover for absent midfielders Jimmy Abdou and Marc Laird by signing QPR's Adam Bolder on a month's emergency loan.

With Abdou missing through suspension and Laird still injured, The Lions manager had little choice but to sign Bolder, 28, who will go straight into Saturday's squad to play Chester in the FA Cup.

"I'm looking for Adam to play a holding role in midfield for us," Jackett told the club's official website. "He has an ability to sit in and select the correct passes at the right time. Positionally he can give us something we've missed so far this season."

Elsewhere, striker Gifton Noel-Williams has left the club following his short term contract while youngster Lyle Taylor has had his loan spell with Eastbourne Borough extended by another month.
