Having been walloped 4-0 at home by Southampton, Millwall received some welcome news in the form of a "bye" ahead of tomorrow's First Round draw of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The competition, formerly known as the LDV Vans Trophy, gets underway on October 17th, but The Lions, who reached the final when it was known as the Autowindscreen Shield, will now enter proceedings at the Second Round Stage.

Manager Nigel Spackman will welcome the news, as he'll now avoid an embarrassing exit in the opening round.
