Jackett: In line for a busy afternoon
Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that winger Ryan Smith has had a trial with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen and took the opportunity to dismiss reports linking The Lions with a move for Ebbsfleet United stirker John Akinde.

Akinde is currently the subject of a £140k bid from an unnamed league club, with members of the MyFootballClub co-operative considering the bid at the present time, but Jackett told News Shopper that the offer did not come from Millwall.

"It isn't us," he confirmed. "Before we got Tresor Kandol in we did speak about Akinde, but we went for Tresor."

Ryan Smith, meanwhile, could wrap up a move to Holland this afternoon, which could in turn see one or two new faces arrive at The Den.

"We have possibilities in terms of people coming in," continued Jackett. "It will probably be a busy afternoon with a lot obviously depending on what happens with Ryan Smith and the Dutch club.

"He has gone out to speak to Nijmegen and we will have some more information probably by lunchtime today."

Jackett, however, has not ruled out the possibility of the winger being included in his squad to face Huddersfield Town this weekend.

"He is available if somebody wants to take him and if that helps me to be creative in other areas, then I will. But if it doesn't work out, that would be the end of it."
