Kenny Jackett could not hide his delight after his side snatched victory against MK Dons at the StadiumMK with a regimental display that snuffed out their hosts.

Midfielder Marc Laird's first-half header secured all three points and moved The Lions level on points with The Dons.

"MK Dons set off at a great pace in the first 20 minutes but gradually we pegged them back," he said after the game. "I am pleased to say the spirit and determination of the players showed right the way through. We managed to stifle them.

"It was a good performance right the way through, I wouldn't say any individual was outstanding and to come to MK Dons and win in the situation we are in and chasing promotion is a terrific performance."
