Morison, who has hit 13 goals this season, was linked with moves to Premier League sides Fulham and Wolves last month but has now put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year extension to his deal at The Den.
"I'm very pleased Steve has signed a new deal and he's optimistic about his future here and what we are going to do," said Jackett.
"You always think your phone's going to ring and a Premier League club is going to come in, but that is always the likelihood when you're doing well as a club."
