Jackett savours terrific result

After a goalless first half, Steve Morison handed the Lions a 63rd-minute lead before Liam Trotter secured the points with a 73rd-minute penalty following Danny Shittu's professional foul on Morison, for which he received his marching orders.

"It was a terrific night and a great atmosphere and a very pleasing result," said Jackett. "The first half was tight but when we got the first goal you could see the confidence going into the players. Before that you could see that we had not been scoring goals recently as we made the wrong decisions around the box and maybe shot a bit too early. As soon as we scored the first we built on that.

"We have been short of goals in recent weeks and games and we have lost a lot of recent games by the odd goal. We have possibly been a bit unlucky and it has been a frustrating run so it was very pleasing to get a couple.

"I thought that the goal really helped Steve Morison, even before that I thought he led the line really well but the goal will help him.

"We are nine points off the play-offs and have 10 games to go, so it will be a tall order, but if we are in with a chance with a sprint finish then we always have a chance."
