Jackett- Simpson move unlikely

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett concedes a move for former loanee Jay Simpson now looks unlikely but is still in the market to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2010/11 npower Championship campaign. Arsenal youngster Simpson has previously spent time on loan with the Lions and, although Jackett has made his interest in the player known, he stressed no bids have yet been made. "Jay Simpson isn't one we've gone in for and we haven't made any bids for him," Jackett told the Southwark News. "He was well-liked here but it looks unlikely at the moment." But Jackett is still hoping to add further new signings to his squad following the arrival of Tamika Mkandawire earlier this summer, adding: "We're always aware of what's happening in the market and we will always try to improve. "I haven't set a target of X amount of players in by the time we start because I do believe that strengthening the squad is an evolution and we're not in a situation where we need revolution. "If players come up that I think are better then we'll take them but I'm not desperately looking around for anybody in particular right now. It'll be a situation where we improve as and when we need it and as and when the players of the quality we need become available."
