Millwall chairman Stewart Till has issued a warning to any prospective bidders that they will not be selling goalkeeper Preston Edwards anytime soon.

The highly-rated youngster, who was recently capped at Under-18 level for England, has attracted admiring glances from a number of Premiership clubs, including Manchester United, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur, and it is believed that at least two bids thought to be in the region of around £500,000 have been turned down by the club.

"Why would we be interested in selling him?" said Till. "We want to keep him and see him play for our first team. We have a lot of talented youngsters."

Fpr many Lions fans, the episode is very reminiscent of the Cherno Samba saga six years ago, when Liverpool offered £1 million for the youngster who eventually failed to make the grade at The Den and there is a feeling that should a similar offer be made for Edwards, the Millwall board may find it hard to resist.
