Both players have agreed two-year deals and are expected to be part of Saturday's squad to face Yeovil Town if their international clearance comes through in time.
Mawene, 21, played for Caen last season while 19-year-old Bakayoko was released by Paris St. Germain during the summer and had been linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion until manager Nigel Spackman offered the player a trial.
