On the day that Roy Keane was passed fit to play in Saturday's FA Cup Final, it has emerged that Millwall player manager Dennis Wise is struggling to make the big day and has flown to Italy to see a specialist in a desperate attempt to get fit.

Millwall have remained quiet over the extent of Wise's injury for the past few weeks but it is understood he is suffering from a calf or hamstring tear. The official line has been that Wise had chosen to rest himself but the player has been struggling to shake off the problem for sometime.

He opted to see a specialist in Italy when consultants in London advised him last Friday that he would almost certainly not be fit enough to play against United.

Should he play, Wise will join an elite band of players who have played in the final with three different clubs.
