Lee: Unhappy with ref
Without a home win in the League all season, the last thing Millwall boss Colin Lee needed was to see his side reduced to ten-men while trying to claw back a 2-0 reverse lead.

But with half-time fast approaching, defender Phil Ifil was given his marching orders by Merseyside referee Chris Foy for a tackle on the Saints' Danny Higginbotham, despite protests from both sides.

"Higginbotham told the referee that Phil didn't touch him and he was just moving out of the way," said Lee. "But he said that he didn't care and told him to get off.

"I wanted to speak to the referee to clarify what happened. I wasn't being abusive but he didn't want to play, so I will be writing a letter because he could have been big enough to put the card back in his pocket.

"But we shot ourselves in the foot with both goals. We gave them away and then we didn't trouble their keeper. It was poor because a goal would have put a doubt in their mind."
