Sutton: To get chance?
Millwall boss Colin Lee has delivered a promise to The Lions' reserve team: "Play well for the reserves and you will get a chance."

Lee, who watched the second string run out 2-0 winners against Reading in midweek, has assured those on the fringes of the first team that if they perform well, they will be considered for selection in the first team squad.

"The squad for Saturday will be the same," said Lee. "But I'll select the team from the ones that played against Stoke last weekend plus the ones that did well in the reserves on Wednesday.

"There will be no guaranteed places on the bench because the ones that played the best for the reserves, in my eyes, will actually be on the bench this weekend.

"That's the way I've always run it; if they don't perform for the reserves then they don't play, or won't be a part of the team for the following Saturday. Thankfully there was a lot of good performances at Reading, so I've got a bit of thinking to do."

Lee's comments will come as welcome news to Ben May and John Sutton - both of whom scored earlier this week for the Reserves - and at least one of them can expect to be selected for the Championship game against Reading this Saturday after it was announced that Bob Peeters will be leaving the club.
