Whitbread has been on the transfer list since turning down an extension to his existing contract but as yet the offer from The Posh has been the only one received by the club, despite alleged interest from Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland amongst others.
"We have talked figures but we are waiting to hear back from Darren at the moment," confirmed Whitbread's agent, Kevin Moran.
