Spackman: Aiming high
Having signed sixteen players over the summer, Millwall boss Nigel Spackman believes The Lions should be challenging for promotion this season in an effort to bounce straight back to the Championship.

With Scottish International Maurice Ross signing the morning to add to the plethora of new faces at the training ground, the manager feels that the club finally have the right mix of players to put last year's nightmare behind them.

"We feel, before a ball has been kicked, that to have a successful season we should try for promotion, either by finishing in the top two, or via the play-offs," Spackman told the South London Press.

"With the squad we've got and its strength in depth, and with the crowd behind us giving us confidence, hopefully we can achieve that.

"There has been an awful lot of work done. But there's still more to do to get the foundations right for Millwall's future."
