Lions endure Paint Pot horror show

Millwall are this morning counting the cost of an embarrassing 2-0 defeat away to League Two side Barnet as they crashed out of the Paint Pot Trophy in the First Round yet again.

The much-heralded return of Paul Robinson to tighten up The Lions defence looked like folly when Kenny Jackett's side, containing a number of first team players, conceded after just two minutes. And things got worse for Robinson, who failed to even last the first half as he hobbled off with a twisted ankle just after the half-an-hour mark, living up to his billing as "Captain Marvel" as Bryan Robson used to do in the 1980s.

Things didn't improve in the Second Half, with striker Jason Price joining the likes of Neil Harris and Steve Morison in the treatment room after his hamstring gave way yet again while at the other end Millwall let in a second to condemn them to their second Cup defeat in a week.

Jackett cannot have been pleased with his team's performance but was seemingly more concerned with Robinson's latest injury after the game: "I am gutted for Paul himself because he has worked so hard trying to get back but gutted for us as well because we will miss him."

Considering he hasn't completed a first team game for seemingly a decade you would think they'd be used to him not being in the side by now...
