Millwall have been fined £30,000 with a further £40,000 fine suspended by the Football Association for the team's poor displinary record on the field during last season, which saw The Lions pick up 14 red cards. The club was already under a £20,000 fine for the previous season, which has now been invoked with a further £10,000 payment activated immediately.

New boss Nigel Spackman is determined that there will not be a repeat next season.

"I have already set the disciplinary guidelines I expect my players to follow," he told the club's official site. "It is my intention that we will be competitive but fair in our approach to every game.

"It is my hope that with this improvement will come success on the field."
