According to reports in today's News of the World, chairman Theo Paphitis is to step down this week and manager Dennis Wise could follow after he and assistant Ray Wilkins had a bust-up at the club.

Paphitis was due to depart in the summer but after a string of bad results and rumours of a financial crisis the row between Wise and Wilkins thought to be the final straw and the chairman is expected to announce his hasty exit from the club tomorrow.

If Paphitis does go, Wise may follow soon after. Incoming-chairman Jeff Burnige has already had a very public argument with the manager and Wise is preparing himself for the chop already, stating just last week that "if he wants to get rid of me, that's fine."
