Lions set to appeal sending off

Millwall have decided to appeal against the red card given to Jimmy Abdou during the first half of Saturday's 4-4 thriller against Charlton Athletic.

Abdou was dismissed for a challenge on Deon Burton despite seemingly winning the ball, allowing The Addicks to draw level after Steve Morison had put The Lions 2-0 up. But after reviewing the video evidence manager Kenny Jackett and CEO Andy Ambler believe the club should appeal to the FA panel and get the decision overturned.

Should they prove successful, the French midfielder would be free to play in Boxing Day's clash against Norwich City.
