Lions set to scrape barrel

Lawrence: Out
Unless Colin Lee manages to secure the services of another defender with the next thirty-six hours, Millwall could travel to Bramell Lane with only one recognised Centre Half in their squad fit to face table-topping Sheffield United.

Matt Lawrence and Mark Phillips are both definitely out while Ady Williams is rated as doubtful after tweaking his hamstring against Plymouth Argyle.

"Matt has a chipped bone in his foot which has flared up quite badly," explained Lee. "It hasn't settled down so Matt will be out for a bit longer than we hoped. Mark is not ready yet and we will wait and see with Ady."

That leaves Paul Robinson as the lone defender in the middle. Lee could decide to risk David Livermore again but although the midfielder played in that position as a youngster, he looked out of sorts when he dropped back against Crewe Alexandra. The only other option is to either promote one of the youngsters from the reserves for the day or bring in yet another emergency loan signing.

However Jamie Vincent may be available again after his own injury problems. The left-back played in Tuesday's reserve game against QPR that ended 3-3 and although he was replaced midway through the Second Half with a calf strain, Lee feels that he could be back in contention very soon.

"Thankfully the injury is not as bad as we first thought," said Lee."He felt a twinge in his calf, which is quite common if you have had a hamstring injury and then start putting weight through the muscle again.

"We took Jamie off immediately he felt the twinge, but he was much better today. It's probably too early for him for Sheffield United on Saturday, but we will have to see how things progress."

Elsewhere, winger Carlos Fangueiro has also returned to training following a spell on the sidelines with his own hamstring injury.
