Lions turn down Rae

It could have been the start of something special, but Dundee manager Alex Rae will not be returning to The Den to take charge of The Lions.

Rae, who was the star of Millwall's midfield for nearly six seasons, impressed new chairman John G. Berylson but was missing one vital ingredient, which was enough for the American businessman to turn him down on this occasion.

"I liked him a lot," said Berlyson, hinting at the fact the Dundee manager had at least been given an interview. "But I meant it when I said the new man must really know League One."
