David Livermore has been enjoying the attentions of the nation's press this week after scoring the 1000th Coca Cola of the season.

Livers, who also netted the final Football League goal of the last millennium, scored the only goal of the game as Millwall beat Nottingham Forest on Sunday when he netted from a freekick that seemed to take everybody by surprise.

"To be honest I didn't know I was going to take the free-kick until Kevin Muscat suggested I should do so," the midfielder told the club's official site. "It was on the right of the box and was ideal for a left footer so I just walked up and struck it. I used to practice free-kicks on a Friday when Steve Gritt was here, but I haven't done so recently. It was a great feeling to see it go in."

Dennis Wise added: "I didn't really know he could do that either. He'll be on free-kicks a bit more from now on!"

Coca-Cola have pledged to make an additional £1m in sponsorship revenue available to be shared by the 72 Football League clubs if they score a combined total of 4,500 goals by the end of the season. This money will then be directed towards the development of an up and coming young player.
