Loss? What Loss?

Millwall Football Club have hit back against claims published in a local newspaper that the club made a loss of up to £4 million last year despite the club's run to the F.A. Cup Final.

The article alleged that the Lions' wage bill exceeds gate receipts by £3m in addition to the repored loss, but Millwall have catagorically denied these reports, stating that they are "incorrect" and claimed the article had "a number of gross inaccuracies."

Full accounts for the year ending 31st May 2004 are due to be published shortly and the club insist that the forthcoming announcement will confirm that the reports publish in the South London Press are inaccurate.
