May: Off on loan

In what can only be described as one of Willie Donachie's most bizarre moves in the transfer market, striker Ben May has joined Scunthorpe United on a three-month emergency loan.

The 23-year-old, who was retained by Donachie in the summer in preference to fans' favourite Poul Hubertz, is likely to be part of the Championship side's squad to face Colchester United tomorrow.

May is expected to stay at Glanford Park until Christmas but The Lions do have a recall clause after the first month should they require his services before the end of the loan.
